Show Your Fireplace Some Love
There’s nothing more romantic than cozying up in front of the fireplace. The dancing flames cast a warm, intimate glow and ask little in return.
This February, if you’ve been enjoying the beauty of a fire in your home and you haven’t given a thought to maintenance, it’s time to show your fireplace a little love. Fireplaces require annual maintenance to continue burning reliably, safely, and efficiently.
If you’re not getting what you need from your hearth appliance, you can bring romance and heat to your home with a beautiful new fireplace, stove, or insert. You can even customize your fireplace’s design elements to compliment the style of your home. Whether you decide to install new fireplace, to repair or your existing fireplace, or you need seasonal maintenance—our certified technicians will have you basking in its glow in no time.
Give your Fireplace the Attention it deserves
The best way to show your fireplace appreciation for all the hard work it does during the winter is regular annual maintenance. But, it’s more than that: the CSIA (Chimney Safety Institute of America) and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) recommend annual inspections of all chimneys and vents.
In wood burners, cleaning and inspection of chimneys is important for protecting your home from a hostile chimney fire. This annual service removes creosote build-up—the main fuel for chimney fires—from your venting and confirms that your fireplace and venting are in safe, working order.
Even if your fireplace burns gas, you should have a certified technician perform service once yearly. During an annual gas service, our NFI-Certified gas technicians will check all the operations and functions of your fireplace, refresh the burner media, and clean the glass and check for leaks. This annual maintenance will keep your fireplace running efficiently and effectively. We also perform service for pellet appliances that is similar in scope.
Bring Romantic Fireplace Ambiance to Your Home
Is your home missing the cozy, romantic ambiance of a fireplace? Are you ready to update your existing fireplace? We can help you choose the perfect appliance to match your style and heating needs.
Your hearth appliance should bring you comfort. If it isn’t doing that, it’s time for an upgrade. How you choose to upgrade your fireplace, stove, or insert depends on what you already have and what you want to change about it.
The first thing you should consider is whether to burn wood or gas in your fireplace and whether you’re looking for a fireplace, an insert or a stove. From there, you will select the make and model and the finishing touches that will bring your fireplace—and room—together.
Wood and gas burning fireplaces are hearth appliances designed to install directly into a wall. They have clearances built into the unit and fit easily into standard framing. These appliances are great for replacing an outdated, inefficient factory-built fireplace or for installation where there was never a fireplace before. They are available in a range of sizes and heat outputs to choose from based on what you need (8,000-95,000 BTU for gas, 20,000-95,000 BTU for wood).
Unlike fireplaces, inserts are designed to install into an existing firebox. This could be in an old masonry fireplace or even a factory-built fireplace. These devices turn your inefficient, aging fireplace into a modern, heat-giving appliance. Inserts are available in both wood and gas burning models with a variety of sizes and design options to choose from.
Gas Fireplaces & Inserts
A gas fireplace or insert is the most convenient way to get the romance of a flickering fireplace into your home. Gas appliances are also our bestsellers—our most common project is converting from wood to gas fuel.
One reason gas appliances are popular is that they’re also highly customizable. You can choose from a variety of style options to make your fireplace or insert your own. In fact, some manufactures boast a near-infinite combination of fronts, refractory panels, log-sets, and burner media.
Gas fireplaces are available in a variety of styles from modern linear to traditional full-view models. You can even have a portrait fireplace that is taller than it is wide. If you want a cozy, traditional look, you can have it. Or, if you’re looking for something more contemporary, we offer many diverse models to suit your needs.
Wood Fireplaces & Inserts
Do you feel a sense of nostalgia when you hear crackling of burning wood and smell a wood fire? You may be interested in a wood fireplace or insert. Modern wood burning fireplaces, stoves, and inserts provide an unbeatable ambiance, and they’re also powerful and efficient heaters.
The EPA requires wood burning fireplaces, stoves, and inserts to meet strict efficiency standards which they update on a regular basis. The next update to these standards comes in May of this year with particulate emissions limited to 2.5 grams per hour. All of our wood stoves, fireplaces, and inserts meet or exceed this 2020 standard.
Not only does this mean that a wood burning fireplace from Mountain Hearth & Patio can burn with up to 80% efficiency, it also means that burning wood in a modern fireplace releases less particulate matter and smoke than older, outdated wood burning appliances. A modern wood burner is an eco-friendly way to enjoy the romance of a fireplace.
